Sometimes we shoot people that have spent a long career bouncing around and within several different genres. Sometimes we shoot people that have been so prolific and run the gamut of so many genres that there's no way to nail them down into any description that can provide any real sense of the breadth of their work. James Jackson Toth, AKA Wooden Wand, AKA WAND, has written hundreds, maybe thousands of songs that explore every corner of the great American songbook with constant reinvention. He is joined onstage by a band comprised entirely of Birmingham musicians. They also insisted that we construct a Giza-sized crystal pyramid around The BottleTree before they would let us film them.

San Francisco's Fresh & Onlys have gradually grown over the years from a garagey psych punk band to what might best be called psych pop. Their songs have gotten more and more intricate and layered and interesting. We had planned to shoot them the year previous but their lead guitarist, Wymond Miles (an accomplished solo musician in his own right), had to fly home the day before the show for a family emergency. Lucky for us, this performance was on the tour for "Long Slow Dance", their most impressive and accomplished album to date.

Legendary bass extraordinaire Mike Watt was kind enough to sit down with us for a wide-ranging interview and let us shoot his performance of his third opera, Hyphenated-Man. Watt is a 40-year veteran of the punk and DIY scene starting with his seminal Minutemen, later fIREHOSE and then solo work - all the while collaborating with dozens of some of the most influential luminaries in music.
