Warren Buffett
After New Orleans musician Evan Christopher wrote an open letter to Warren Buffett asking him to buy the Times-Picayune, the Oracle of Omaha wrote back. Buffett professed his ignorance of Advance’s profitability but said he does not think a three-day-per-week print cycle is a sustainable business strategy, the Poynter Institute’s MediaWire reports. “Either a publication is a newspaper or a periodical and I think three days a week crosses the line,” Buffett wrote. The Times-Picayune will make the transition along with Advance Publication’s three Alabama newspapers this fall.
