Country first. State party second?
Cody Jones, the outgoing
chairman* president of the University of Alabama College Democrats, won’t be voting to re-elect President Barack Obama in November. Jones told the Crimson White that he just can’t bring himself to support the president, but not because he’s too far left on or right on one issue or another, or because Obama failed to follow through on a campaign promise or made any major practical misstep. And not because Jones will be voting for assumed Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
No. Jones said he won’t be voting for Obama “due to what Jones perceives as a lack of support the White House has for the state party.”
Well. It’s certainly important to have ideals.
Jones said he will write in another Democrat for President.
For what it’s worth, the incoming
chair* president is supporting Obama.
