A family medicine group has withdrawn reservations for a Mobile meeting due to Alabama’s tough immigration law, the Mobile Press-Register reports.

The Association of Departments of Family Medicine had plans to hold a meeting next year at the Battle House Hotel, but now the organization’s board has chosen to ditch those plans, citing HB56.

After the law passed, some speculated that a Golden Dragon copper tube plant would not locate in Alabama due to HB56, but eventually Golden Dragon settled on Wilcox County.
