On the court’s lunch break Tuesday, Joe Espy, attorney for Milton McGregor, urged patience on jury deliberations in the Alabama bingo corruption case.
“In my mind, when you try a case for two months, you simply gotta have patience,” Espy said.
This is the fifth day of deliberations in the case. Jurors began deliberations Friday afternoon, and continued all day Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and all day Monday. They began today at 9 a.m.
“I don’t take anything one way or the other from it,” Espy said, when asked about the length of deliberations so far.
“I think we’ve just got to be patient because of the length of the indictment and the length of the trial,” Espy said.
