Jefferson County Commission prays before entering executive decision to consider county's financial future.
The Jefferson County Commission has gone into a closed-door executive session to decide how to conclude more than three years of financial chaos. Commission President David Carrington said that he anticipates some conclusion at the end of the meeting. That decision could be either to file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection or to accept a settlement with the county’s creditors.
The executive session could last at least two hours and as long as four hours, Carrington said.
