Movie star Al Pacino appear Friday, June 15, at the annual VIVA Health Starlight Gala at the Alys Stephens Center at UAB.

Who doesn’t like Al Pacino?  Who doesn’t find the attitude he has funny?

The unpredictable actor Al Pacino will appear on Friday, June 15 in a fundraiser at the Alys Stephens Center.

You know, that off-the-wall, yet laid-back, hilarious, seemingly “I’m-just-being-brutally-honest-and-I-don’t-give-a-crap-if-it-hurts-your-feelings” attitude?

Who wouldn’t want to meet him?

Well, Pacino will be in Birmingham for one night to share with jokes and stories with you.

He’ll even answer your ridiculous questions. “Mr. Pacino, was that gun real?” (OK, maybe that’s just a question I want to ask.)

Pacino will appear at the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center, located at 1200 10th Ave. South, on June 15, at 7 p.m., as part of the annual VIVA Health Starlight Gala. The event is a fundraiser for the programs and education initiatives of UAB’s Alys Stephens Center. The VIVA Health Starlight Gala is known for its spotlight on diversity and celebration of all genres of the performing arts.

There will be a Q&A after Pacino gets done doing whatever it is that he feels the need to do in Birmingham. We do know, though, that the award-winning actor will be sharing timeless moments from past backstage antics, his “real” life and his prestigious 40-year acting career, and even display some never-before-seen movie clips.

But outside of that, you are on your own.

From anybody that has seen the crazy roles that are credited to Pacino or have seen interviews with him, you know what I am talking about; you never know what the guy might say or do.

Al Pacino will appear at the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center, 1200 10th Ave. S., on June 15, at the annual VIVA Health Starlight Gala. This event is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are $125 for a celebrity package that includes seating for the event and access to a pre-party; $175 for a package including premium seating and access to the pre-party; and – if you’re a huge, and I mean huge, Pacino fan –  there is a $1,500 ticket for the a package including the pre-party and a post-show dinner event featuring a brief meet and greet with the actor. For more information, go to http://alysstephens.uab.edu.
