BREAKING: Vet board backs down on some clinic rules

Supporters of low-cost spay-neuter clinics seem to have won a victory today in Montgomery, according to tweets from a Birmingham News reporter at the meeting…

Kim Chandler of the Birmingham News just tweeted from Montgomery that the state veterinary board seems to have backed down from their attempt to put in new rules that would have effectively closed the low-cost spay-netuer clinics in the state, including Alabama Spay-Neuter in Irondale.

Chandler tweets, “Victory for clinic proponents as board does not approve disputed rule. Very happy, says lawyer for Shelby Humane Society. Meeting ongoing.”

She had tweeted just prior, “Board does not approve one of the disputed rules on ownership of vet equipment.”
The meeting is still going on, Chandler says.
