Efforts continue to renovate the Lyric Theatre, a magnificent old vaudeville house located on Third Avenue and 18th Street North downtown across the street from the Alabama Theatre.
Even better, you can be a big part of those efforts, beginning this week.

The Lyric Theatre downtown was built in 1914 expressly for live performance and once hosted such greats at the Marx Brothers, Buster Keaton and Mae West.
Representatives of the Atlanta offices of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be in town Thursday and Friday to provide Lyric volunteers with organizational tools and resources that will help in fundraising.
The EPA will offer two identical volunteer sessions on those days — Thursday, June 14, at 5:30 p.m., and Friday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m.
Tours of the Lyric will follow each free program.
To register for the Thursday session, go to http://lyrictoolkit.eventbrite.com.
