Here at Weld, we know that politicians have the right to free speech and we believe in their right to exercise it. In Election Connection, we offer local politicians the chance to explain to their constituents what makes them unique. The next submission is from GOP Circuit Court candidate Bobby Lott.
Experience. Character. Competence.
These are the qualities that set me apart as a candidate.
I am Judge Bobby Lott.
I am one of the Municipal Judges for the City of Gardendale, and I am also an Administrative Law Judge for the State Dept. of Education, where I have presided in over 100 cases involving teachers.
In addition to my judicial duties, I also maintain a busy law practice where I have represented 100′s of clients, both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a wide variety of cases including, Negligence, Workers Compensation, Fraud, Dram Shop, Bad Faith, Wrongful Death, just to name a few. These are the exact types of cases I will be hearing if elected.
I also have an MBA from UAB, and nearly 20 years of business experience outside the courtroom, which gives me the breadth of knowledge so necessary for a good judge.
Many of the cases that come before the Circuit Court are business related. The judge should have the background to understand the terminology, the concepts, and the theories presented.
I have that background.
I have been married to my wife Kathy for nearly 19 years, I teach Sunday School and I am active in several organizations including the Christian Legal Society, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals, the Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program, the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Birmingham Bar, the Future Leaders Section of the Birmingham Bar and the Municipal Judges Association.
I am also an amateur guitarist and music collector with a collection of over 85,000 songs in numerous genres. I am also an avid Weld reader and concert-goer.
Judges should be independent. They should follow the law and not be tied to any special interest groups, whether it be big business or trial lawyers. I believe my record shows that I am independent.
Jefferson County’s court system is extremely busy. As the only candidate for Place 9 with judicial experience, I believe that I am best ready to serve from day one.
Please feel free to visit my website www.judgelott.com to learn more about me.
If you want an experienced judge who is fair, independent, and knows the law, I would certainly appreciate your vote for Circuit Court Place 9.
